(Dizano.info) – “Ice cubes in winter?” Yes, ice cubes in winter, but that’s okay. I still use ice cubes this time of year because, quite frankly, I don’t always crave or want a warm drink.
Besides, can always use them to cool extremely hot drinks. These versatile cubes can be modified to your very own tastes and be used in a multitude of purposes. Normal ice cubes are merely just water, so they can dilute your beverage, but these? Oh no. They can add a punch to any drink, adding flavor and depth wherever you need it. No more extra hot coffee cooled down with flavorless water. Hey, maybe you’ll even add a little Bailey’s.
What you’ll need:
- cooled coffee
- ice cube tray
- (optional) other things you want in your ice cube such as chocolate, Bailey’s, vanilla, cocoa powder, different kinds of sugar, etc.
- 600ml milk
- 60g sugar
- 1 vanilla bean pod
Instructions:
- First, make sure you have some cooled coffee. If you’re going to add a solid in like chocolate, make sure it’s warm so that it can melt and meld together. At this point, you’ll want to add anything else you want to brighten up the coffee. The possibilities are limitless here.
- Pour into your ice cube tray and put in the freezer. Allow to freeze.
- To make the vanilla milk, heat your milk and sugar over medium heat in a saucepan. Slit the vanilla bean down the middle, scrape out the seeds then add the seeds and pod straight into the milk. Move to a heat-proof bowl and allow to rest overnight. This will infuse vanilla into the milk.
- To serve, simply add some ice cubes to your glass and pour the milk over it. Alternatively, you can make the milk hot to allow the cubes to melt. You can also add cocoa powder to warmed vanilla milk, add the ice cubes then pour more milk.
