What you’ll need:

  • vegetables and fruit, e.g., potatoes, lettuce, bok choi, jalapeno peppers, apples, okra, cabbage, endive, etc.

  • knife

  • paint of choice

  • sponge

  • paint brush

  • (optional) cookie cutters

Instructions:
  1. Take your  vegetable and/or fruit and cut it in half. If you’re cutting leafy greens such as lettuce, cut it near the stem. For fruits with seeds, use a needle to help remove them. If using the potato, you’ll want to outline a shape with a knife then cut the outer portion to create a protruding space. Alternatively, you can press a cookie cutter into it and cut around the shape.

  2. Dampen the sponge, wring it dry and place it on top of something such as aluminium foil or waxed paper. This is to prevent the paint from touching the surface it’s on. Using a paintbrush, soak the sponge with paint.

  3. Take your vegetable/fruit stamp and coat it entirely on the sponge then press onto desired paper.
